Southern Maine Stockyard's Mission
SMS was founded by the husband-and-wife team of Joseph and Shallie when they first purchased a small eight-acre farm in Lebanon, Maine. SMS’s primary goal has always been to be self-sufficient regardless of supply chain shortages. Through social media and relationships created, Southern Maine Stockyard’s shared journey to self-sufficiency in organically raised produce inspired and empowered the surrounding community to join the mission.
Southern Maine Stockyard (SMS) is a veteran owned-operated family farm that has been producing certified organic fed pork, chicken, turkey, eggs, and vegetables since 2014. In 2020 the farm moved to a 130-acre parcel in Waterboro, Maine and added beef and maple sap production to our product line.
We sell community supported agriculture (CSA) shares of chicken, beef, pork, turkey, and produce to the community from our farm stand and through social media marketing. To date we have served over 100 families in our local community with beef, pork, chicken, and turkey products.

Southern Maine Stockyard is passionate about our fellow veterans and want to do our part to support veteran's organizations. SMS pledges to donate meat products to support hungry veterans in the state of Maine. Our goal in 2024 is a whole pig (approximately 150 lbs of meat).
